International Unconditional LOVE Month--free photograph - August 1, 2010 As August is International Unconditional LOVE Month, I am offering a free photograph to everyone who makes a public pledge to not send any e-mails to anyone that say anything negative about a person or group of persons and then sticks with it. The pledge is that no matter how much we don’t like someone or don’t agree with what they are saying or how they are behaving, we will keep it to ourselves –at least electronically. We will instead sit at the computer and think to ourselves that there must be something about that person that is lovable, even though we don’t know what it is, and we will say, “okay, I don’t agree with you; I don’t like what you are saying and/or doing, but for this month (and maybe only for this month) I will simply sit with how I feel and not try to convince other people to not like you and not vent my anger at you to other people via the internet. ”
On a really good day, people who are making the pledge are adding, “And for today, and maybe only for today, or only for five minutes, I will even say that because you are a fellow human being, and maybe ONLY because of that, I love you.”
Everyone who keeps their pledge for the whole month can choose a photograph from this site or www.renaeedge.com, or tell me what they like and I'll find something lovely.
To register, send me an e-mail at edge_renae@yahoo.com saying you are pledging and that you agree to have your name posted on the "Featured Work" page. At the end of the month send me another e-mail saying you made it and which image you want.
If you don't see this for a few days into August, I'll extend the offer going into the first week of September for a total of 31 days. If there's any month-long celebration worth extending it's International Unconditional LOVE Month!!
